Dental Insurance
Dentistry is an important, but increasingly expensive part of everyone’s healthcare. With effect from 1 April 2006 the Government changed the arrangements for NHS dentistry in England and Wales. As a result a new system of charges have been introduced – these changes mean that patients are now paying more for their dental care and yet receiving less for their money, with only limited appointments available on the NHS. It is therefore no surprise that Dental Insurance is becoming a popular contract allowing patients access to quality dental care.
Dental cover is a low cost product. Most contracts offer cover for routine and hygiene treatments, remedial or restorative treatment, with many providers including worldwide dental emergency cover, oral cancer cover, and hospital cash benefit. In general plans are easy to understand, often pre existing conditions are covered, claiming is easy and many providers allow a choice of Dentist (NHS or Private).
